Workforce & skills
Internal workforce
We are a small, senior-only team, and skills development is planned per person: continuing professional development for our Chief Medical Officer (a practising NHS consultant and accredited Clinical Safety Officer), cloud, security and interoperability certifications for engineering, and structured internal knowledge-sharing so clinical-safety, information-governance and engineering skills spread across the team rather than sitting in silos.
Growing the wider workforce
Our commitments, made formally in our public-sector Social Value responses:
- Paid placements. From the first year of active call-off business, at least one paid placement per year — minimum 8 weeks, paid at or above the Real Living Wage — in health data engineering, clinical safety or health software delivery, recruited openly with bias-mitigated selection and prioritising widening-participation candidates.
- Mentoring for NHS clinicians. A structured mentoring scheme for NHS clinicians moving into digital health — at least four mentees per year, with a minimum of three hours of group mentoring, covering clinical safety (DCB0129/0160), AI literacy and career pathways — led by our Chief Medical Officer.
- Outreach. At least two outreach sessions per year with schools, colleges or programmes serving underrepresented groups.
Skills through delivery
Our published capability-transfer model builds client skills into every engagement: named client staff shadow delivery, and documented handover training transfers the ability to run what we build — so the NHS workforce itself gains skills from every contract, at no additional charge.
Supply chain
Our supply chain is deliberately small: UK-region cloud providers (AWS and Microsoft Azure). All NHS and public-sector work is delivered in-house by our own team — we do not subcontract delivery. For any suppliers we engage, our vetting and terms include fair-work expectations — prompt payment within 30 days and Living Wage alignment — and as our supply chain grows we will ask prospective suppliers for their approach to skills, development and apprenticeships as part of selection, favouring those who invest in people.
